Corning’s ultra strong Gorilla Glass is used in all of Apple’s iDevices, preventing the displays on our iPads and iPhones from becoming scratched and cracked.
Today the company announced that it will introduce the third version of its Gorilla Glass at the Consumer Electronics Show next week. Gorilla Glass 3 features a new glass composition with durability enhancements.
Though little else is known about the new Gorilla Glass, Corning has said that it is noticeably tougher, which could lead to further scratch-proofing improvements in future versions of Apple’s iDevices.
Gorilla Glass 3 will be demonstrated at CES 2013, which takes place from January 8 to January 11.
