The Moment To Hunt Demons Is Now With Akaneiro

We’ve been keeping you up to date on all things Akaneiro and now we’re happy to inform you that Akaneiro Demon Hunter from Spicy Horse is now live. You can join in on the free to play Action RPG at Spicy Horse or by means of Kongregate for PC or MAC.

Akaneiro currently features 20 maps and content with more on the way, including Steam integration. The game is available for free but another option is a one time $20 “unlock all maps” fee that grants access to all content and maps to the impatient immediately.

The Akaneiro Kickstarter is coming to an end soon and has acquired over $160,000. If the Kickstarter reaches its goal, mobile and Linux versions of Akaneiro as well as co-op will be made available in the future.

Akaneiro is based on Red Riding Hood and steeped in Japanese mythology and folklore. It was developed by American McGee’s Spicy Horse and is available for download here.

Another World 20th Anniversary Edition Is Out Of This World

Another World or Out Of This World as it is sometimes referred to is currently available on Steam in a 20th anniversary edition. The action/ platform game made its debut in 1991 and has since been ported to several different platforms. Recently Another World was selected as one of the few games chosen to be part of New York‘s Museum Of Modern Art.

Another World has been catapulted to “cult” status by critics and game lovers and is widely recognized as one of the most original and innovative games of its generation. Presented with high-definition graphics, and newly remastered sound, Another World is sure to capture the attention of new and old fans alike.

Another World 20th Anniversary Edition offers 3 difficulty modes; its original mode, an easy mode, and for skilled gamers, a mode that is more difficult than the game’s original hardcore mode. The 20th Anniversary edition also comes with the Development Journal and a making of video.

Gratuitous Space Battles Adds A Few Outcasts

Fans of Gratuitous Space Battles will be excited to know there is an expansion to the game now available for download. The expansion is called Outcasts and is available for $5.99 at either the Positech store or Steam. The original Gratuitous Space Battles is required to play Outcasts.

The Outcasts are a new race to the Gratuitous universe who have been shunned by religious zealots because they lost their “purity”. The years of hostility led to the Outcasts rebelling in epic proportions which set off a course of revenge and genocide. However in a twist, the bullied have now become the bully and the Outcasts roam the universe seeking other biological life forms to destroy. The official press release follows the break…

“The Outcasts” includes:

– 10 new ship designs
– new modules exclusively for the Outcast faction, including a multiple target tractor beam and a decoy projector to fool your enemies
– 2 new scenarios where you fight off Outcast fleets
– and, of course, the Outcasts are a playable faction in all other GSB content including online challenges and the campaign game
